OUR LEARNERS
As a school we endeavour through our daily interaction with our learners to inculcate a spirit of resilience and perseverance which is crucial when facing obstacles, particularly in this ever-changing world in which we live.
We give our learners an opportunity to collaborate with others to learn from each other and grow together. We encourage our learners to accept responsibility for their actions and progress.
Through treating learners with respect, we encourage our learners to treat others likewise. Respect goes hand in hand with tolerance and acceptance, self-esteem, patience, empathy and courtesy.
- Tolerance and acceptance of every individuals right to their own opinions, beliefs and practises.
- The necessary self-esteem to acknowledge that they are special and that every person deserves a rightful place on Earth. Helping them to acknowledge the greatness of each person.
- The patience to calmly listen to the opinions of others without interruption and to make the effort to understand their perspective.
- To show empathy to others by showing true compassion and understanding of what others are going through and constantly
reminding ourselves to treat others as we wish to be treated. - To be courteous towards others in our manner of speaking and our behaviour. This will show that we respect our differences and individuality.

Our learners emulate reliability through the actions and choices of their educators. They are encouraged to do everything to the best of their ability, consistently doing the right thing and to live out the proverb that says, “Honesty is the best policy” in their dealings with both teachers and their fellow learners.
Promoting humility, modesty and an unassuming attitude which in turn promotes an appropriate measure of self-confidence. To understand that inter dependence is not a weakness but essential in developing mutually beneficial relationships which leads to healthy emotional attachments. Exercising self-control and discernment by establishing guidelines by which learners can determine right from wrong, resist peer pressure and make choices that are in alignment with the school code of conduct.

OUR SPORT
Sport allows learners an opportunity to express themselves and connect with other people.
The social benefits play a vital role in the development of the learner in society by teaching them how to contribute to a team. The dynamics of sport gives a child an opportunity to understand how to win and lose, how to deal with setbacks and obstacles, which will help develop these skills to navigate through life experiences.
We currently offer athletics, cross country, chess, netball, mini-netball, soccer, mini soccer and golf. In the near future we intend to introduce tennis and hockey.
We are affiliated to the department of education and we have seen quite a number of successes one of which is an athlete who was selected to represent the province at national level.
We have a team of highly qualified coaches who are dedicated to their sporting codes and who have themselves played at district / provincial levels. We host an annual Bright Star Soccer and Netball Tournament which has proven a huge success and is attended by a huge number of the top sporting schools in the district. A number of private institutions also vie to be included as sponsors on the day.
